  • Welcome to the Independence Professional Fire Fighters IAFF Local 2629 website. Check back frequently for updates.

A few of your Independence Firefighters are in attendance at the biennial MPFFU Convention in Traverse City. They have heard various presentations, both from the MPFFU Executive Board, different committees within the union, as well as guest speakers and vendors. They are assisting in making important decisions for the future of the MPFFU.
Fine work from firefighters Brent Turner and Lee Green! How rewarding to have this email sent to Chief Piché giving such high praise: “Hello, I wanted to reach out to you to tell you how amazing a couple of your firemen are! We had a call at our house and these two responded, and made our three year old feel safe and comfortable.
Congratulations to a few of our Local 2629 brother’s, Matt Decker, Connor Jacobson, and Jacob Green who took the IAFF oath in front of the MPFFU 6th District.
