Meet Engineer/Paramedic Michael Upshur! Mike has been serving at IFD for 6 years, and currently works on Shift 2. During his time at IFD, he has served on the North Oakland County Technical Rescue Team 3201, as well as many different capacities in day-to-day operations.

Mike started his career at OCC, obtaining his Associate’s Degree in Fire Science in 2010. He was an employee of Oxford Fire Department for 5 years prior to his hiring at IFD. He is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Rope Rescue Operations, Confined Space, Structural Collapse, and Trench Rescue.

He is proud to serve the citizens of Independence Township.
